How to Make Edible Christmas Playdough

The process for this is just like our ice cream playdough recipe.

Follow these simple steps to create your sweet red and green edible Christmas playdough:

Step 1: Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, start by adding about 1 cup of frosting in one of your Christmas colors. Slowly add powdered sugar, about 1/4 cup at a time, and mix well after each addition.

Continue adding powdered sugar until the mixture thickens and forms a dough-like consistency. You’ll know it’s ready when it no longer sticks to your hands and is easy to knead.

Step 2: Knead the Dough

Once your dough is mixed, transfer it to a clean surface lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and stretchy. If it’s still a bit sticky, simply add more powdered sugar until you reach the perfect consistency.

But remember to add the powdered sugar in small increments so it doesn’t get crumbly.

For extra fun, divide the dough into smaller portions and add food coloring or sprinkles to each portion. You can create a variety of festive colors such as red, green, and white. Knead the coloring or sprinkles into the dough until evenly distributed. You can also add a little edible glitter for a magical holiday touch!
