Don’t forget about preschool holidays to celebrate in February. Valentine’s Day is a given and so is Ground Hog’s Day. Other holidays include: Chinese Lantern Festival, President’s Day, and Mardi Gras.
February is also an important time to teach preschoolers about Black History Month. It may not be developmentally appropriate to go into deep detail about black history in the US, however February is a wonderful time to teach preschoolers about powerful black peoples and influences of black culture.
